Famed symbologist Professor Robert Langdon is called to the Louvre museum one night where a curator has been murdered, leaving behind a mysterious trail of symbols and clues. With his own survival at stake, Langdon, aided by the police cryptologist Sophie Neveu, unveils a series of stunning secrets hidden in the works of Leonardo Da Vinci, all leading to a covert society dedicated to guarding an ancient secret that has remained hidden for 2000 years. The pair set off on a thrilling quest through Paris, London and Scotland, collecting clues as they desperately attempt to crack the code and reveal secrets that will shake the very foundations of mankind.
I haven’t read the book of Da Vinci Code before and got little knowledge in western development history since the Christian era. Lots of people criticized the truth of history postulated by the director/author in the movie and commented it poor and trustless! And, the controversial story not just arouses public awareness but disappoints many believers worldwide. To me, that’s just a movie trying to make use of the historical background and sell her arts and tickets, and her mission accomplished here. Why have to treat it so seriously? As Langdon commented, it isn’t a matter what the truth was in reality! What the main concern is your belief! Does it still valid and hold even something did happen 2000 years ago? Just go ahead if your answer was still firmly YES!
Unlike others, I found the movie somehow is acceptable and did entertain me while the nearly 2 and 1/2 hours long broadcasting. It would be better if I got some background in history of the Christian era.

I haven't watched it yet but I will. I kind of think people take the story too seriously. Afterall it's just fiction using history and religion as background. When people take it so seriously, it just helps the sales of the book and now the movie.
yup, that's the point. : )
exactly, the author did well in research and documentation and try to formulate a story deviating from the history we learnt. He can be a historian ~
